Test #1800 New Zealand in South Africa 2005/06 (2nd Test) at Sahara Park Newlands, Cape Town

In this high scoring drwan match, these were some of the statistical highlights:
Stephen Fleming , with his monumental 262 of 423 balls became one of the 23Test Cricketers to register 3 or more double hundreds. Bradman leads this list with 12 double hundreds.
Jacques Kallis during his 71 completed 8000 runs in Test Cricket in 101 Tests. He thus became 17th batsman to record a test career aggregate of 8000 runs or more. Kallis already holds the record for highest test career aggregate by a South African. However his tally includes 83 runs he scored while playing for ICC World XI. He also took 198 wickets in these 101 tests including one wicket in the ICC World XI Vs Australia Test. His 97 Catches include 4 catches he held while playing for ICC World XI.
Kalllis' Test Career record at the end of the 2nd Test against New Zealand thus reads:
For SA: 100 Tests, 7928 runs @ 56.22 with 24 Centuries and 40 fifties with 189* being his best. 197 wickets @ 31.79 with 4 5-wkt hauls and best being 6/54. He also held 93 catches.
For ICC World XI : 1 Test, 83 runs @83.00 with 44 being his best. 1 wicket @ 38.00 an 4 catches.
Overall : 101 Tests, 8011 runs @ 56.41 , 198 wickets @31.82 and 97 catches.

Ashwell Prince , while recording his 4th test century crossed the 1000 run mark in test cricket thus becoming the 421st player in cricket history and 40th South African batsman to record 1000 runs or more in a test career. At the end of this Test he has 1042 runs in 20 Tests @37.21 with 4 hundreds and a fifty.

New Zealand's James Franklin with 122* and South Africa's Hashim Amla with 149 recorded their maiden test ceturies. It was 18th Test for Franklin and 4th for Amla.

Jeetan Patel became the 233rd Player to represent NZ in Tests and 2475th overall to play in Test Cricket. He made his test debut memorable by claiming a wicket with the 3rd ball he bowled in test cricket to dismiss Graeme Smith caught & bowled.
